I engaged with the creation by communicating with the people who in my opinion knows me best and asked how they think of me as a person. Afterwards I did the same thing but with myself, thinking about myself in different aspects and times in my life. I developed the idea that people always see me as the loud, funny, obnoxious person they can always go to if they need a laugh. Although personally i see myself as a pretty self conscious, stressed wreck of a person with the feeling of being trapped inside a world and society that is just as unhappy as me, I an uniquely presenting by showing myself in my best and worst state with the megaphone showing my loud outgoing personality in the right picture and the left showing the tears showing my sad and overwhelmed state. Originally when trying to develop an idea about highkey/lowkey I didn't want to expose this side of myself to my classmates but i gave it more thought and decided that bringing attention to this issue could possibly prevent people from going blind sided in the future.
The viewer in looking at my interpretation of what myself at my best state(right) and my worst state(right). the primary emotion I felt while making this piece is fear. i didn't want to show the world how i truly felt about myself and my life. I enjoy the fact that everyone sees me as this bubble bright individual and potentially ruining that scared me. While creating this project I learned that it isn't always a bad thing to reveal your innermost thoughts with people even if it scares you at first. This is extremely different from what we a used to doing in class. Most projects are first not usually self portraits nor are they this personal and exclusive to your innermost thoughts. I'm hoping that that the viewer of these photos can come to understand that not everyone is what they are portraying to others and sometimes the one reason someone always is trying to make other people smile and be happy is because they are feeling the exact opposite and know what it is like to feel downhearted.
